About Us
Established in 1954, The Performing Arts Center at Brooklyn College is located on the North side of the scenic campus of Brooklyn College. In 2018 we became the Leonard and Claire Tow Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, but the mission remains the same -- educating students in the performing arts disciplines and presenting new and emerging artists while providing professional performance spaces to support the students of the School Visual, Media and Performing Arts departments. The Center's theatres, recital halls, and rehearsal spaces provide the learning environment that students who are seeking careers in the arts disciplines require to hone their craft. In addition, the Center presents music concerts, theatre productions and film screenings that showcase those emerging talents. Almost all events at the Center are open to the general public, many of them are free.
The Center has been the home of the Brooklyn College's School for Visual, Media and Performing Arts' renowned departments since the School's inception and continually upgrades and incorporates the latest advances in the technology of each discipline; the new Leonard and Claire Tow Center for the Performing Arts will continue that tradition for students and the school's esteemed faculty as well as affording the general public an inviting place to enjoy the fruits of the young student-musicians, thespians and filmmakers in a comfortable and enjoyable performance space.
