Studio Theatre 307

With the demolition of the venerable George Gershwin Theatre, which, for over half a century, was the home of the Brooklyn College Department of Theater's MainStage Productions, the Student Government Productions Film Series, the Educational Theatre Guild's Film Series and Brooklyn Center Presents Yiddish Theatre, additional performance space was needed. Until the new Tow wing of the Center is completed, that space comes in the form of what used to be a large dance studio in Roosevelt Hall, now repurposed and dubbed Studio Theatre 307 - a fully functional theatre-in-the-round performance space. It was promptly outfitted with all the high-tech theatrical gadgetry by the able Theatre Department technicians, and it has fast become a very desirable space in which to mount some of the departments newest productions. Audiences seem to have taken quite well to this new performancespace.

Access

Members of the College Community coming by car with BC parking permits should use the parking spaces beneath the Roosevelt Hall underpass for proximity to the Roosevelt Hall entrance; park as close as possible to the loading Dock #I ramp and entrances (please observe the Handicap Parking spaces -- the dock ramps are wheel-chair accessible). Enter the building through the double doors on either side of the loading dock and the elevators will be located immediately though the entrance doors. Take the elevator to the third floor and follow the signs in the hallway to the theatre.

Those without parking permits coming by car will need to find street parking. Entering 2900 Bedford Avenue in Google Maps or any GPS will return directions to the location of the College entrance with the street entrance to Roosevelt a few yards from the entrance gates of the campus -- Roosevelt Hall street entrance. Find metered street parking close by; on some of the side streets you can find free, non-metered, "alternate side" parking.

When using public transportation, make the necessary MTA connections from your location to the B6 or B11 bus which stops almost directly in front of Roosevelt Hall. You are looking for the entrance facing Bedford Avenue.

Once in the building, take the elevator to the 3rd floor; signs in the hallway and the elevator will direct you to the theater.
