Mezzanine Lounge

Whitman Hall's Mezzanine Lounge is a sun-filled, warm and welcoming space that is ideal for pre or post show receptions, business meetings or catered soirees, with plenty of room for a gathering of an entire dance troupe, the musicians of an orchestra or the cast and crew of a theater production company.

Like the theater's Grand Lobby on the orchestra level below it, the walls of the lounge are adornmed with rich, multi-colored and highly polished, Tafrry Grey rhyolite marble from the famous Danby Quarry in Vermont. The space has been used by such luminaries as Dame Joan Sutherland, Itzahk Perlman, Zubin Mehta -- to name just a few -- to receive their fans for meet-and- greets, book and autograph signings as well as after-show catered receptions.

The airy, 1560 sq.ft. hall opens onto a terrace over-looking the Great Artists Plaza and is the perfect gathering place for performance-related events. It is also available for rental for corporate meetings, business conferences, catered luncheons, receptions and private parties.

While the College does not supply a catering service, we work closely with superb local Brooklyn restaruanteurs who regularly cater receptions and conferences where a client may want anything from light snacks to full meals. When the weather is accomodating, the gathering can extend out onto the terrace for a lovely added touch of alfresco.

Rent this space. For information about rental rates for this facility, email Rentals@BrooklynCenter.org, or call our General Manager, Richard Grossberg, at 718-951-4600 Option 9
