Rental rates are contingent upon the type of event being produced, but whatever the event, our staff of highly skilled theatrical professionals will help to bring it to full realization and at extremely competitive prices. The staff has been praised by many producers (most of whom return year after year) as one of the friendliest and most helpful of any venue in which to produce a show.
Brooklyn College is proud of its long tradition of involvement with the Brooklyn community by way of offering the magnificent Claire Tow Theater and its support spaces -- its Grand Lobby and Mezzanine Lounge -- for rental at very attractive rates, making it the ideal gathering and performance space for community, civic and cultural groups, as well as those desiring the full scope of a professional production crew and a fully-equipped theatrical venue.
Over fifty of our Brooklyn high schools and colleges, as well as the Fire and Police Department Academies, take advantage of the large seating capacity of the Claire Tow Theater for their commencement ceremonies. Literally hundreds of thousands of Brooklynites are indelibly linked to Whitman Hall because one of the most important milestones in their lives -- their graduation -- took place on its stage. If you are the administrator in charge of your school's graduation and are considering booking the theater for the event, don't hesitate to contact us. From its inception, the Performing Arts Center at Brooklyn College has as part of its mission, support oflocal community groups and organizations, helping them to mount their own performances and events in our facilities.
Technical Info and House Policies
When renting the Claire Tow Theater and its support spaces in Whitman Hall to produce an event, our Production and House Management teams have compiled a handbook containing comprehensive information relating to the technical as well as the physical aspects of the venue. All House Policies under which we operate are also detailed. It is highly recommended that any prospective client download and read this information, especially the House Policies section. Your technical crew will find this information invaluable.
