The Brooklyn College Film Department and the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts’ highly anticipated 39th Brooklyn College (Virtual) Undergraduate Film Festival will premiere in a two day event on June 24th and June 25th. It's on Livestream; it's free and everyone's invited!
For 38 years, the Film Department's Annual Film Festival has celebrated our students’ cinematic accomplishments with the annual screenings of their thesis films in our magnificent art-deco Walt Whitman Theatre and more recently at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Due to the pandemic, this year’s Festival will again be presented online via Livestream, showcasing the outstanding creative output of the department's young-and-future filmmakers -- the culmination of their exceptional work in every discipline of the filmmaking process.
This virtual showcase boasts a wide variety of short films to satisfy every palate -- from hilarious comedies to thought-provoking dramas to deeply moving and personal stories. Many of the thesis films go on to win honors and awards at national and international film festivals. We look forward to sharing the films created by our film students who have struggled valiantly during this unprecedented year.
The Festival will culminate in the prestigious Awards Ceremony -- student-filmmakers will be presented with scholarships, academic and craft awards. Please join us in this festive celebration of outstanding thesis films on Livestream.
